Spread the good news
The recent CBI Service Sector Survey has been splashed across the newspapers.
Extracts from the report hit headlines "…service firms are in gloomy mood as downturn hits profits..." "…Business volumes and values fell at rates not seen since the end of 2001…" "…Demand for leisure and personal care services - such as gyms, hairdressers, or cinemas fell markedly in the last quarter, as did spending in hotels, bars and restaurants…" "...Consumers are reigning in spending on leisure, entertainment and eating out…"
These reports are based on 143 firms across the sector covering the first few months of 2008.
